An effective weight loss program, if integrated with a good detox diet can produce an overall improved health and wellness giving you flawless skin, regular bowel movements and better digestion on top of loosing weight, strengthening of the body’s immune system, curing migraines, and removal of cellulites.  Sounds like a panacea every woman can dream of.

Going on a detoxification diet can seriously change the nutrient levels of the body, thus it is essential for the individual to have all necessary nutrients in the right levels first before doing it.

Allow us to clarify on this.

Detoxifying can totally change the calorie levels because food intake involves mainly low fat food, for instance high fiber fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans and lots of fluids from herbal tea and water.  All these will cause reduction in body mass, purifying the organs and filling the body with protein and vitamins.

Overall, diets intended to detoxify means less intake of food such as carbohydrate-based, dairy-based, meat, fish, eggs, coffee and liquor, salty and sweet and factory prepared food.  Normally, eating too much of these types of food cause weight gain.  On the other hand complete absence or very little intake of these foods will also mean going on with an unbalanced diet which can surely cause deficiencies in major nutrients necessary to maintain immunity from diseases.

The above may seem contrary, but what should be done to achieve a perfect balance is to detox for a prescribed period of time only.  After this you should go back to your usual diet, but this time more thought of, balanced and in correct amounts.

The body has been designed to know when to naturally unload the toxins that its owner has accumulated.  If you decide to help hasten the process, it should be on a limited time. Doing everything in moderation such as eating, drinking and exercising can do the trick and which would make crash diets or prolonged detox programs not necessary.

I have prepared a list of food types which could satisfy your taste buds as well as help foster an ideal body weight and maintain high energy level:
